Angling For Mental Health & Suicide Awareness competition is being postponed .

The competition was due to be held at Oakland’s on May 30th.

We will reorganize the competition when it is safe for us all to meet again.

With the ongoing & forever changing situation we find ourselves is something we have never witnessed before.

A lot more people’s mental health will be effected by all of this so please, try & look after yourself & lookout for people who might be struggling with their mental health.

When it is safe we can organize the competition god knows we , will need the services our chosen Charitys give on a daily basis.
The Hope Drop in center for prevention of Suicide’& jigsaw.

Sending our best wishes to all of you & a very special thanks to those who are still operating a service for those with mental health illness.

Be safe from all @ KAI

ANNOUNCEMENT:

After days of emails and phone calls, we are pleased to say that Ballymount lake will be open to angling UNDER VERY STRICT conditions that have been set out by the HSE, Inland Fisheries and South Dublin county council. Angling will be accessible as long as the parks stay open to the public or as long as is recommended.

Above all please everyone stay safe and smart about this virus, the sooner we stop it spreading the sooner we can all go back to normal.

BELOW IS A LIST OF HSE RECOMMENDATIONS:

1:No non-essential travel should take place – fish in your local area

2:Avoid crowded places

3:Reduce social interactions

4: Anglers should remain 2 metres apart (roughly one-rod length) from each other and other members of the public
If applicable, anglers should check that the fishery is open in advance of fishing

5:Anglers need to be aware that they are in areas that are not routinely disinfected or cleaned and use all precautions to keep themselves and others safe from Covid19

BELOW IS A LIST OF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BALLYMOUNT:

1: You must have a membership card to fish Ballymount lake, you can get one here: http://www.killinardenanglinginitiative.com/ballymount-lake-rules/adult-member-information-2020/

2: All anglers MUST adhere to the 2-meter social distancing rule set out by the HSE, and because of this there will only be 6 angling areas on the lake.

3: If all pegs have someone on them then please go home, do not wait for a peg to come free, park rangers and Gardi will move anyone on.

4: Anyone fishing outside these restrictions will have their membership revoked.

5: Do not occupy the pathway with your equipment or block passageway for any walkers or people using the park.

6: Please only use minimal equipment, there is no need to bring the kitchen sink.
